About the Happy Hearing Podcast
The Happy Hearing Podcast explores the real-life experiences behind hearing loss and hearing healthcare. Co-hosted by Audiologists.org medical reviewer Dr. Ruth Reisman, Au.D., and hearing loss coach and advocate Carly Sygrove, each episode combines clinical expertise with lived experience to make hearing health easier to understand.
Together, they explore everything from hearing technology and tinnitus to communication, identity, relationships, and the everyday realities of living with hearing loss.
There are so many questions that come with hearing loss, like what it really feels like to live with tinnitus, how it impacts confidence, or what hearing aids are best for your type of hearing challenges. This is exactly why Ruth and Carly created The Happy Hearing podcast.
By bringing together audiologists, researchers, advocates, innovators, and people with lived experience, the podcast bridges the gap between what happens in the clinic and what it actually feels like to live with hearing loss. The result is honest, practical conversations that explore both the medical and human sides of hearing health.
Meet the hosts
Dr. Ruth Reisman, AuD, MBA, CCC-A, is an audiologist, founder of Urban Hearing, a professor of audiology at the City University of New York, and member of the Audiologists.org medical review team. Having experienced sudden hearing loss herself, Ruth brings both professional expertise and personal insight into the challenges many of her patients face.

Together, Ruth and Carly create evidence-based, relatable conversations that help listeners better understand hearing health while feeling supported throughout their own journey.
Why we partnered
Audiologists.org and the Happy Hearing Podcast share a common mission: making hearing healthcare easier to understand. With Dr. Reisman serving as both an Audiologists.org medical reviewer and co-host of the podcast, this partnership was a natural extension of our commitment to trusted, patient-centered hearing health education.
By bringing the Happy Hearing Podcast to Audiologists.org, we’re expanding how people can access trusted hearing health information through both expert-led articles and engaging conversations.
Whether you prefer reading or listening, our goal is the same: to help you better understand your hearing, feel more confident navigating your care, and know you’re not alone on your hearing journey.
